KAAL BHAIRAV PUJA

In the Shiva Puraan, it is clearly stated that lord Shiva Manifested as Shree Bhairav Devtaa to protect Lord Vishnu from the injustice and falsehood of Lord Brahma. Shree Bhairav Devtaa was created out of the third eye of Bhagwan Shiva as the Poorna Avtaar or full/complete manifestation of Shiv Ji. It is in this context that the pooja, once for the year, is performed to guard us against the evil eyes, hands and envy of others. This offering is like re-enforcing the walls and doors of our home to protect us in all aspects of life.
The worship of Kaal Bhairav can be done when Devi Durga Pooja is performed and an offering of a tenth additional pair of Lapsee and Soharee can be offered in the Havan in his name“Om Shree Bhairavaa ya namaha Swahaa“.
The Kaal Bhairav Pooja surely can protect your home and family, more so your business and places of interest by guarding you against the many injustice and evils of the world. Your pooja secures the external parameters of your property guarding your home and family against any negative energies and misfortunes.
It is always advisable to contact your family Pundit of Guru with regards to the performance of the pooja, but I have very humbly listed here-under some recommendations for your guidance. The most appropriate time for conducting the pooja is a Monday or Friday evening at 6pm.
Materials for Puja
Leepay or paste the ground after clearing and cleaning an area with the Gobar and leave to dry. The Gobar is very important in insuring that no evil or negative forces disrupt your offerings and it is accepted by whom it is intended.
Sit comfortably facing east and place 3 paan leaves on the ground side by side. Light three deeyas behind the paan leaves, and with flowers, bael leaves and neeb, invoke the blessings of Bhagwan Shiv, Mahaa Kali and Kaal Bhairav Devtaa. Offer the flowers and leaves on the three paan leaves. Sprinkle water 3 times on the three leaves followed by the hardi, sindoor and insence. Offer the sweet rice, lapsee and soharee , dahee or yogurt followed by water again. Offer soparee and cloves also. Light the insence and wave in a clockwise direction followed by aarti using a canphor and mango leaf. Conclude the offering by taking the three dried coconuts and offering them individually with your prayer and wished to the devataas. A final aarti could be done.
