MAHA LAKSHMI PUJA

 

Materials for Pooja

• Murti or Picture of Mother Lakshmi
• A bedi or altar to place the Goddess
• A thali or tray with 8 deeyas, oil and wick
• Kalsaa, pari, white-rice
• A tulsi tree in a pot or container
• Hawan khund or fire pot, coals and mango sticks
• White rice, sugar, goo-gool, black-till, ghee- for Hawan
• Chandan, perfume and incense
• Assorted or various flowers, neeb leaves, paan leaves and tulsi
• Prasaad – ( sweet-rice, sweets, fruits or mohan bhog)
• Coins, soopari, cloves, saffron and sindoor
• A maalaa or garland
• Lotaa of water with a mango leaf
• Thali with a deeya and flowers for aarti
• A gift of clothing to be given as charity to a deserving person
• A offering of 5 grains to be given as charity to a deserving family
