The Month of Kaartic is the most sacred of all the Hindu Months. The worship of Goddess Mother Lakshmi during this time is imperative in the use of the Sacred Tulsi as the focal point of our devotions.
A tulsi tree is planted in a pot or vessel where it can be placed on the Altar or vedi for worship and pooja. If a Tulsi tree exists by the jhandi area, then the worship can be done there.
Materials for Pooja:
Dhar (water, red flowers and white rice)
Chandan
Perfume
Incense
Aarti
Flowers
Dakshina
Lota of water
Offer water 3 times from the lota using a mango leaf at the base of the tulsi tree.
Om Tulsi Divyaee Namaha, Paadyam Samar Pyaami.
Then place chandan at the tip of the tulsi tree and sprinkle perfume.
Om Tulsi Divyaee Namaha Chandanam, Gandam Samar Pyaami.
Light incense and pass around the tulsi tree. Offer aarti and flowers.
Om Tulsi Divyaee Namaha Doopam, Deepam, Pushpam Samar Pyaami.

Remember Kartic Month is the most auspicious of all the Months and you should pray everyday for the blessing of mother Lakshmi through the use of the Tulsi.
